Donald Trump Berpidato Rayakan Exceptionalism Amerika di Gunung Rushmore

Presiden Donald Trump menyampaikan pidato patriotik yang luas di Gunung Rushmore pada hari Jumat waktu setempat untuk menandai malam menjelang peringatan hari ulang tahun ke-250 Amerika Serikat. Dilansir dari Fox News, dalam orasinya Trump menyatakan Amerika Serikat sebagai negara paling luar biasa yang pernah ada dan bersumpah wilayahnya tidak akan menjadi negara komunis.

Perayaan menyambut hari jadi ke-250 tersebut mulai meriah di seluruh negeri saat Trump berbicara tepat di bawah pahatan granit empat presiden pendahulunya, yakni George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, dan Theodore Roosevelt.

"In all the chronicles of the ages, never before has any nation celebrated so magnificent a triumph as this one," ujar Donald Trump, Presiden Amerika Serikat.

Trump memuji sejarah bangsanya serta berargumen bahwa tidak ada negara lain yang mampu mencapai pencapaian sebesar Amerika Serikat.

"At 250 years, America is the oldest republic on earth," lanjut Donald Trump. "We are the freest people on earth. We have the most righteous and enduring Constitution on earth.

We are the strongest and most powerful country on earth. And by the grace of God, the United States of America is the most successful, most accomplished, most exceptional nation ever to exist in human history."

Sebelum ia menaiki panggung pidato, pesawat kepresidenan Air Force One baru terbang melintasi Gunung Rushmore di tengah sorak-sorai para penonton yang hadir. Setelah memberikan pernyataan, Trump tetap berada di lokasi untuk menyaksikan pertunjukan kembang api di atas area Black Hills.

"The birth and survival of the American nation under God is, quite simply, the best and most incredible thing ever to happen on this planet by human hands, ever," kata Donald Trump. "No other country has done more good for this world than the United States of America."

Trump juga berpendapat bahwa negaranya sedang menghadapi apa yang ia sebut sebagai gerakan komunis yang berkembang untuk merusak karakter luar biasa Amerika dan menjauhkan masyarakat dari sejarah mereka. Gerakan tersebut memicu pertanyaan mengenai arti menjadi seorang warga Amerika, di mana komunisme disebutnya sebagai ancaman terbesar.

"It is the greatest threat to our country, including World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, or even 9/11," tutur Donald Trump. "We're not going to let this happen to us. Believe me, we're not letting it happen, because communism is the enemy of free people."

Trump kemudian menambahkan pandangannya mengenai ideologi tersebut yang dinilai berlawanan dengan prinsip dasar kehidupan negaranya.

"Communism is the exact opposite of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — it is death, tyranny and the pursuit of evil," sambung Donald Trump.

Trump menegaskan kelompok tersebut tidak akan menang melawan pihak mereka.

"But we will not let them win," cetus Donald Trump. "They have no chance against us."

Trump memberikan arahan yang tegas mengenai pilihan loyalitas bagi masyarakat.

"You can be loyal to Karl Marx, or you can be loyal to America. You can be a communist, or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both," tegas Donald Trump.

Saat warga Amerika menghadapi pilihan tersebut, Trump mengarahkan pandangan pada pengorbanan masa lalu bangsa sebagai panduan masa depan.

"Our American ancestors did not shed their blood at Concord and Trenton, Gettysburg and Shiloh, Midway and Normandy, just so that a band of thieves, radicals and lunatics could come in and loot, pillage our nation," papar Donald Trump.

Trump menyoroti empat sosok presiden yang terpahat di gunung di belakangnya sebagai representasi dari cita-cita pendirian Amerika Serikat.

"They were men of action, men of ambition, men of daring, men of destiny, and men of truly great intelligence," urai Donald Trump. "Above all, they were great men of history. Tonight, on the threshold of our 250th year, we stand beneath the monument of these heroes, a true group of unbelievable people. And we rededicate ourselves to being a nation as big, bold, noble, and as great as these American giants."

Berdasarkan jadwal, Trump akan menyampaikan pidato berikutnya pada hari Sabtu di National Mall yang terletak di Washington, D.C. sebelum pertunjukan kembang api perayaan kemerdekaan dimulai.

"We know that this is not an ending," pungkas Donald Trump. "This is only the beginning of the golden age of America."
