Jannik Sinner Menghadapi Novak Djokovic pada Semifinal Wimbledon 2026 di London

Petenis nomor satu dunia Jannik Sinner berhadapan dengan Novak Djokovic dalam babak semifinal turnamen Grand Slam Wimbledon pada Jumat, 10 Juli 2026, di London, Inggris. Pertandingan ini menjadi penentu bagi kedua pemain untuk merebut tiket menuju babak final hari Minggu guna menghadapi Alexander Zverev yang sudah lebih dulu lolos.

Dilansir dari Il Giornale, Sinner berhasil mengamankan kemenangan pada set pertama dengan skor 6-4 dalam waktu 40 menit setelah melakukan pukulan backhand yang menghasilkan break krusial di game kesembilan. Pemenang dari laga sengit ini dijadwalkan menantang Zverev yang sukses menyingkrkan petenis Inggris Arthur Fery dalam laga tiga set langsung.

Menurut laporan BBC, Djokovic yang kini berusia 39 tahun melaju ke semifinal setelah melewati pertandingan perempat final melelahkan selama lima jam 15 menit melawan Felix Auger-Aliassime. Meskipun sempat membutuhkan perawatan medis karena cedera betis kiri, petenis Serbia tersebut tetap termotivasi mengejar gelar Grand Slam tunggal ke-25 sepanjang kariernya.

"I still try to prove to myself and others that I'm able to compete with the best players in the world and beat them in the biggest stage," kata Novak Djokovic, petenis Serbia.

Djokovic menegaskan ambisinya untuk terus membuktikan kemampuannya di panggung tertinggi tenis dunia setelah memenangkan pertemuan terakhir mereka di semifinal Australia Terbuka.

"That's what I've done in Australia, it's what I've done here." ujar Novak Djokovic, petenis Serbia.

Petenis veteran itu berharap ketahanan fisiknya di lapangan rumput London dapat terus membantunya memenangkan beberapa pertandingan tersisa.

"Hopefully I can do it for a few more matches in London." tutur Novak Djokovic, petenis Serbia.

Di sisi lain, mantan petenis nomor satu Inggris Tim Henman menilai karakteristik lapangan rumput memberikan keuntungan tersendiri bagi pemain senior seperti Djokovic dalam menjaga kebugaran tubuhnya.

"I do think grass is the least physically demanding surface," kata Tim Henman, mantan petenis Inggris.

Henman menambahkan bahwa pengelolaan energi sangat krusial bagi pemain berusia 39 tahun yang harus menjalani pertandingan dengan format lima set terbaik.

"Those matches over the best-of-five sets are inevitably going to take it out of anyone but, when you're 39, being able to gauge those energy levels is really important." ucap Tim Henman, mantan petenis Inggris.

Sementara itu, Jannik Sinner datang dengan kondisi bebas cedera dan menunjukkan performa servis yang impresif sepanjang turnamen setelah mengubah teknik lemparan bolanya. Pemain asal Italia itu mengaku setiap pertandingan melawan Djokovic selalu menghadirkan situasi dan tantangan yang berbeda di lapangan.

"I feel like every match is different [against Novak]," kata Jannik Sinner, petenis Italia.

Sinner merasa rekor pertemuan sebelumnya tidak menjadi jaminan karena dinamika permainan di lapangan rumput sangat bergantung pada performa harian.

"Even when I had this small streak with him, I felt like every match has really its own story." ujar Jannik Sinner, petenis Italia.

Menurutnya, kesalahan kecil saat melakukan servis atau kegagalan mengantisipasi bola akan membuat pertandingan di permukaan rumput menjadi sangat berat.

"Especially when you play on a surface like this, if you have a bad serving day or not feeling the ball very well, it's going to be very, very tough." tutur Jannik Sinner, petenis Italia.

Berdasarkan informasi dari AOL, Sinner juga menceritakan peran tim kepelatihannya yang kerap mengenakan pakaian senada di kotak penonton, termasuk mengenai takhayul warna topi pilihan mereka.

"You need to ask my team. Not me," kata Jannik Sinner, petenis Italia.

Sinner berseloroh tidak ikut campur dalam pemilihan topi timnya, kecuali menghindari warna putih karena persentase kemenangan yang buruk saat timnya memakainya.

"No I’m not in charge. The only color I don’t like is a white hat for a certain reason. We don’t have a good win percentage when they have a white cap. But the rest they choose." ucap Jannik Sinner, petenis Italia.

Pelatih Sinner, Darren Cahill, yang bergabung sejak 2022, menekankan pentingnya perbaikan kualitas servis pertama Sinner untuk mempermudah eksekusi poin berikutnya.

"One thing I did say is, ’The serve needs to improve. You’re six foot four and you’re a strong lad’," kata Darren Cahill, pelatih tenis.

Cahill menambahkan bahwa kecepatan dan akurasi servis pertama akan memberikan keunggulan kompetitif yang signifikan bagi Sinner di atas lapangan.

"You need to be able to get more miles per hour on that first serve, better direction on that first serve. Then not only do you start winning some free points from your first serve, but also your Plus One becomes much more effective. If people can neutralise your serve, you have to work much harder for your points." tutur Darren Cahill, pelatih tenis.

Cahill memuji mentalitas kompetitif Sinner yang selalu melontarkan pertanyaan demi meningkatkan level permainannya agar mampu memisahkan diri dari persaingan ketat di sirkuit utama.

“Then his questions came, one after the other… It’s typical of him. He wants to compete. He’s a competition animal.

We’re seeing an incredible level of tennis at the moment, with Carlos [Alcaraz] and Jannik. If you look at their body of work over the past couple of years, they’ve separated themselves from the field. Now it’s up to the field to chase.” kata Darren Cahill, pelatih tenis.

Rekan duet kepelatihannya, Simone Vagnozzi, menekankan bahwa fokus utama tim adalah memberikan ketenangan pikiran kepada Sinner melalui persiapan taktis yang matang.

“As we always say in our team, the important thing is trying to work and prepare as well as possible to have the chance to compete and win titles as much as possible. The important thing for us is to have the peace of mind that we have done things as well as possible.” kata Simone Vagnozzi, pelatih tenis.

Vagnozzi mengaku sangat beruntung bisa bekerja sama dengan Cahill karena chemistry profesional dan personal mereka langsung terbentuk dengan cepat.

“I have to say that I’m so lucky to have met someone like Darren, both professionally and personally. We connected immediately, and that undoubtedly helped us in our journey. It’s never easy to find that chemistry, but we’ve always prioritized Jannik’s interests.” ujar Simone Vagnozzi, pelatih tenis.

Ia memaparkan pembagian peran dalam tim kepelatihan Sinner, di mana dirinya memegang kendali taktis sedangkan Cahill berfokus pada aspek mental pemain.

“In practice, we have different roles; I’m responsible for the more technical and tactical side of things, and he is more in charge of the mental and emotional aspects. Of course, we share everything, and the most important thing is that the player always hears one united voice.” ucap Simone Vagnozzi, pelatih tenis.
