Naomi Osaka Pakai Gaun Emas Kevin Germanier di French Open 2026

Petenis asal Jepang, Naomi Osaka, menarik perhatian publik saat memasuki Court Suzanne-Lenglen di turnamen French Open, Paris, pada Selasa, 26 Mei 2026. Juara Grand Slam empat kali tersebut tampil mengenakan pakaian kustom bernuansa hitam dan emas hasil kolaborasi dengan Nike dan perancang busana Kevin Germanier.

Osaka mengenakan korset hitam dan rok lipit panjang yang menutupi gaun tanding emas bermanik-manik sebelum menghadapi petenis Jerman, Laura Siegemund. Kostum mewah dari material daur ulang ini sempat menuai sorotan karena kondisi cuaca di Paris yang mencapai suhu ekstrem 90 derajat Fahrenheit.

Mantan petenis nomor satu dunia itu mengakui bahwa dirinya sempat memiliki masalah sikap di masa lalu sebelum akhirnya mengubah fokus dan cara berekspresi di lapangan melalui pakaian yang dramatis.

"Honestly, I had a pretty bad attitude when I was younger, and my dad had a stern talk to me about it, and ever since then, I was, like, ‘Oh, oh, no,’" kata Naomi Osaka.

Ayah Osaka menilai bahwa dirinya menghabiskan energi untuk hal yang salah karena terlalu terpuruk saat kalah namun tidak merayakan kemenangan.

"He told me ‘You're putting energy into the wrong things.’ I wouldn't celebrate if I won, but I would be extremely down if I lost." kata Naomi Osaka.

Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, petenis berusia 28 tahun itu kini berusaha tampil lebih vokal dan merayakan setiap pencapaian di lapangan.

"Maybe I still do that sometimes, so that is why I try to be really pumped up and vocal. Just celebrate your wins more and try not to celebrate your losses." ujar Naomi Osaka.

Mengenai performanya di lapangan tanah liat menjelang Roland Garros, Osaka merasa penampilannya di Madrid dan Roma musim ini cukup sulit untuk dinilai secara objektif.

"I feel like the clay season this year, it's been a little bit hard to judge for me," tutur Naomi Osaka.

Petenis peringkat 16 dunia itu merasa bermain bagus di Madrid, meski akhirnya harus menelan kekalahan dari Aryna Sabalenka dengan skor 6-7(1), 6-3, 6-2.

"I felt like I was playing well in Madrid, but then obviously I played [Aryna] Sabalenka and I lost there [6-7(1), 6-3, 6-2]. I felt like I had my chances, which was a good takeaway." kata Naomi Osaka.

Setelah itu, Osaka melanjutkan turnamen ke Roma dan memenangi dua laga awal sebelum dihentikan oleh petenis nomor satu dunia, Iga Swiatek.

"Then we went into Rome… I thought I played my first two matches really well, and then Iga (Swiatek) said, ‘Hell, no!’ She slapped me in the ground. That was a little crazy." kata Naomi Osaka.

Kekalahan telak 6-2, 6-1 dari Swiatek sempat menurunkan kepercayaan diri Osaka, meski ia menyadari masih harus banyak belajar di lapangan tanah liat.

"Honestly, that blew my confidence a lot, but I just had to step away, knowing that she's the best clay court player, and I still have a lot to learn. The score was wild (6-2, 6-1), but it was a little bit closer, there was a lot of deuce games or whatever." kata Naomi Osaka.

Hingga saat ini, Osaka tercatat belum pernah berhasil menembus pekan kedua atau melewati babak ketiga dalam turnamen Grand Slam di Paris.

"I think a lot of people know me for being a really good hard-court player, and I hope that i can eventually start doing better on the other surfaces, too," kata Naomi Osaka.

Ia telah berdiskusi dengan pelatihnya, Tomasz Wiktorowski, dan berharap bisa melangkah lebih jauh dari babak ketiga pada perhelatan Perancis Terbuka tahun ini.

"I talked with my coach Tomasz (Wiktorowski), and he said it's crazy I have only been to the third round here. Hopefully we can go further this year." kata Naomi Osaka.

Terkait pilihan busananya yang mencolok, Osaka menjelaskan bahwa pakaian merupakan media komunikasi utama bagi dirinya yang berkepribadian tenang.

"I feel like fashion, for me, I don't talk a lot, so that way I can talk through my clothes. That means I can be as loud with colours or patterns or fabric as I want," jelas Naomi Osaka.

Ia mengaku terinspirasi oleh tradisi penampilan ikonis dari Serena dan Venus Williams yang selalu diingatnya sejak kecil.

"I definitely would say I'm doing something here too. But I think that's the fun part. I feel like we lost that a little in tennis. I always tell people I grew up with [about] Serena's and Venus' grand reveals. I literally can look at a picture and probably tell you what year that outfit came from." kata Naomi Osaka.

Osaka berharap keputusannya dalam berbusana bisa memberikan dampak emosional yang sama bagi generasi muda saat ini.

"I know there are some kids or some people that are similar to me that hopefully feel that same way about my outfits. I am a little dramatic when it comes to my fashion sense." kata Naomi Osaka.

Pernyataan serupa mengenai fungsi fashion sebagai alat komunikasi non-verbal juga kembali ditegaskan oleh Osaka dalam sesi konferensi pers resmi di French Open.

"I feel like fashion, for me, I tell people, I don’t talk a lot, so that way I can talk through my clothes. That means I can be as loud with colors or patterns or fabric as I want," kata Naomi Osaka.

Bagi Osaka, elemen kejutan dalam berbusana merupakan bagian paling menyenangkan yang sempat hilang dari dunia tenis profesional.

"That’s the fun part, you know. I feel like we lost that a little in tennis. I always tell people I grew up with Serena’s and Venus’ grand reveals. I literally can look at a picture and probably tell you what year that outfit came from." kata Naomi Osaka.

Ia menutup keterangannya dengan mengakui bahwa dirinya memang memiliki selera fashion yang cukup dramatis.

"I know there are some kids or some people that are similar to me that hopefully feel that same way about my outfits. But, yeah, I am a little dramatic when it comes to my fashion sense." kata Naomi Osaka.

Di sisi lain, media Outlander Magazine memuji penampilan Osaka dengan menyebut bahwa sang petenis telah berhasil menaikkan standar berpakaian terbaik di Roland Garros.

"Roland Garros’ best dressed just raised the bar again," tulis Outlander Magazine.

Majalah tersebut menambahkan bahwa mereka sengaja membawa Osaka ke lapangan tanah liat otentik di Paris untuk menyesuaikan energi sang petenis pekan ini.
